CLASS OF 2020 VIRTUAL
GRADUATION
The OS program encourages adaptablility, and in the midst of the abrupt cancellation of in-person
events, designing this year’s celebrations provided us the opportunity to re-evaluate what we could
do to acknowledge this special moment. With input and help from students, faculty, and staff,
we were able to host a live ceremony via video conferencing service, complete with processional
music, keynote and student speeches, and a slideshow presentation of our graduates. This event
provided us the opportunity to share this special moment with friends and family who normally
would not have been able to join us, and let our students connect in a unique way. The event was a
huge success, with over 250 guests and their co-located friends and family, attending by phone or
video from all over the US and the world including Canada, Norway, Sweden, Turkey, and the United
Arab Emirates.
