There is a dedicated team of staff for Sixth Form students who through close monitoring offer help and guidance on an individual academic and personal level. Students who are endeavouring to pursue a University place are given help and encouragement throughout their time at Shelfield Academy. This includes support through the application process and access to various forms of independent impartial advice and guidance. The process also covers the practical elements of higher education, such as student finance and health. The Sixth Form centre has been designed to help students develop the research and independence skills needed for their studies as well as being a crucial skill to acquire for life beyond school.

The Centre has a dedicated study area and Sixth Form teaching rooms that can also be used for personalised learning opportunities. The Academy has excellent ICT facilities which incorporate leading-edge technologies such as 3D capability in all classrooms as well as a devoted 3D theatre.

The Shelfield Community Academy Sixth Form is an excellent opportunity for students who are wishing to further their education via on a variety of academic and vocational courses in a caring and nurturing environment.
