56 pensioners arrived at Shelfield for our annual Pensioners Christmas dinner. They were treated to entertainment from the music department; including brass and woodwind performances and some

stunning solo performances from students playing the flute and saxophone.

The pensioners enjoyed the musical entertainment and even joined in on a couple of numbers including We Wish You A Merry Christmas and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer!

Following the musical pieces the drama department showcased their talent with their rendition of A Christmas Carol. Behind the scenes, students from Year 8 worked alongside the kitchen and site staff to transform the canteen area into a restaurant, setting tables with sherry, mince pie and Christmas crackers.

The pensioners thoroughly enjoyed their lunch served to them by our Year 8 and Sixth Form students - one pensioner even said that the "Christmas lunch at Shelfield was more enjoyable

the one served at a local hotel!"
