‘Cracks’ in the walls offer visitors a glimpse into life during World War II. At the end of the tunnel, a survivor shares their experience of escape from massacre.
Time Traveller closes with its final act, Destiny, which charts modern achievements and the road to independence. Visitors are given umbrellas as they stand under an innovative ‘rain’ enclosure and watch projections of the 1968 National Day Parade and the funeral of Lee Kuan Yew in 2015 - recreating the weather conditions of these two seminal events in modern Singaporean history. As visitors conclude their journey, they are asked to vote for their chosen ‘Bicentennial DNA trait’ — openness, self-determination, or multiculturalism – thus ingratiating themselves within the experience and within Singaporean history itself.
