KS4 CAREERS PROGRAMME
The options chosen in Key Stage 4 can also affect the opportunities available for further study at Key Stage 5 . Further guidance on entry requirements at the various sixth forms and colleges is advisable when making a choice at Key Stage 4 . Local Post 16 websites can be found on the careers page of The Avon Valley School website . Most A level courses ( or equivalent ) demand a grade equivalent to a high 5 / 6 or more at GCSE ( or equivalent ) and advice on the different colleges and sixth forms within Rugby and beyond is worth researching .
It is hoped that the wide range of options on offer at The Avon Valley School , will allow students to follow a broad and interesting curriculum that will open doors to future study and / or employment , and allow students to develop a love of learning .
We will support your child in making a successful transition into Post 16 education . Students will be provided with opportunities to go on work experience , write letters of application , have mock interviews , and attend careers fairs and assemblies with local Post 16 providers . In addition , your child will have an opportunity to participate in the National Citizenship service summer adventure , attend a 1:1 careers guidance interview ( which you are also able to attend ) and hear from the many speakers who present careers insight talks to students . STEM opportunities are offered in addition to this .
Additional support to choose options can be found in the following locations :
If you would like to help increase the opportunities for employer / employee encounters and are able to talk about your career pathway with our students , please do not hesitate to contact me (
