The many benefits of OSI Group By Denis Langlois I sland Eyecare has had OSI Group in its corner since the Victoria-based clinic first opened its doors a decade ago. Dr. Anita Narang, the practice’s optometrist, says the company’s services have proven to be invalu- able and its support to Member clinics is top notch. “OSI Group comes with a wealth of knowledge and resources,” says Dr. Narang, whose clinic was estab- lished in 2009. “They help consolidate a lot of the work. They have a great network of people who offer support and continuing education programs and they go out of their way to help with 22 Optical Prism | October 2019 anything you may need. They work with many practices, so they are quickly able to let you know what works and what doesn’t. The end re- sult: happy patients that have been cared for to the best of our ability.” Island Eyecare outgrew its initial location and moved to a larger space in 2017 in the historic Mosaic building on Fort St near Cook St. The practice offers comprehensive services, including full eye exams, retinal imaging, visual field exams, glaucoma and macular degeneration management, contact lens fitting, a dry eye clinic and emergency care. It also has a large selection of frames, wide range of lens options and a state-of-the-art edging lab. Island Eyecare takes advantage of many of the services and support offered by OSI Group, which has been at the service of independent owner optometrists for 37 years. OSI Group offers a multitude of services such as group purchasing, centralized invoicing and payments as well as consulting, digital mar- keting and Web services. Its Opto- sys practice management software includes patient, sales, schedule, order, inventory and clinic exam management functionalities to meet each clinic’s needs. Recently, Optical Prism spoke with Dr. Narang about her practice and the benefits of being an OSI Group Member clinic.
