These products can range from fancy glasses cases to branded lens cloths and bags and from new lens technologies to innovative in-office equipment and software designed specifically for ECPs .
Also new this month , Optical Prism has teamed up with the Canadian Association of Optometrists ( CAO ) to include a monthly column , written by CAO officials , on topics that are newsworthy , timely and / or of importance to Canadian ECPs .
The debut column , written by CAO president Dr . Michael Nelson , illustrates how seemingly unrelated eye care topics , like myopia and low vision , are more closely connected than we think .
We ’ re excited to bring you this regular column , which is created by members of the ECP community , for members of the ECP community .
The arrival of spring will be a welcome solace to many after a winter of lockdowns , stay-at-home orders and self-isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic .
Spring , which begins March 20 , is a time of renewal , rejuvenation and rebirth .
And we ’ re embracing this new beginning with open arms .
This March issue of Optical Prism magazine also marks a rebirth , of sorts , with the launch of a couple new features that we ’ re eager to share with you .
As our loyal readers will know , Optical Prism has included a Preview section near the front of our magazine for many years . This popular section provides eye care professionals with a glimpse of some of the new eyewear styles that have debuted or will soon launch in the Canadian marketplace .
These two sections add to the other new features that we ’ ve brought to Optical Prism magazine , including Last Glance , which you can find at the back of each book , and a more active and engaging social media and website presence .
Of course , we will continue to include our regular sections , such as NextGen and our monthly pictorials as well as our feature articles on the latest and greatest in lenses and frames .
