Ascension gives him the rights to worship Lord Krishna and manage the affairs of the Sri Krishna math / temple for next 2 years. Lord Krishna idol was installed at the temple here by Madhwacharya, exponenet of the Dwaitha philosophy about 850 years ago.
Following a dip at the Danda Tirtha near Kaup, about 12 km from Udupi and has a dip at 3:30am. Thereafter he arrived at Jode Katta, where the seer was welcomed by large number of devotees. A grand procession, in which 16 tableaux and 15 cultural troupes took part, began from Jodu Katte at 4 am. At end of procession devotees carried the chief deities of Sode Vadiraja math, Sri Bhuvaraha and Sri Hayagreeva in a Palanquin.
Vishwavallabha Tirtha led in Palanquin the Ashta math seers, included- Visvesha Tirtha Swami( Pejawar math), Vidyasagar Tirtha Swami( Krishnapur math), Vidyadheesha Tirtha swami( Palimar math), Vishwaprasanna
Tirtha junior( Pejawar math) and Vidyavallabha Tirtha Swami( Kaniyar math).
The procession passed through the Taluk Office Road, Court Road, Diana Circle, Ideal Circle, Tenkapete before culminating at the car Street. Vishwavallabha Tirtha then proceeded to Kanakana Kindi and had darshan of lord Krishna from there. He went to Sri Chandramouleshwara and Sri Ananteshwara Temples, had‘ darshan’ of the deities there and offered prayers.
At the entrance of Sri Krishna Temple, he was welcomed by the Outgoing Paryaya seer Lakshmivara Tirtha of Shiroor math. Both the seers went to the ' Madhwa Sarovar ' to wash their feet. They then entered the Sri Krishna math / temple and had ' darshan ' of Lord Krishna through the Navagraha ' Kanakanana Kindi ' they then offered prayers to Lord Mukhya Prana and Lord Garuda.
Both seers then entered the ' Simhasana Shala ' Lakshmivara Tirtha handed over the ' Akshaya Patre ' and ' Satuga '( vessel and ladle dating back to the times of Sri Madhwacharya) and the keys to sanctum sanctorum to Vishwavallabha Tirtha, marking the formal transfer of authorities from one math to the other. Vishwavallabha Tirtha ascended the Paryaya Peetha at 6:20am.
' Malike Mangalaratti ' was performed to other seers of Ashta math at Badagu Malige.
Vishwavallabha Tirtha along with other seers, then proceeded to participate in the Paryaya durbar programme at Rajangana. A large number of devotees witnessed the proceedings. Notable absentees- Vishwapriya Tirtha Swami of Admar math, who had informed well in advance that he would not attend the function and Sugunenedra Tirtha Swami of Sode math who had announced on Tuesday he would skip the function.
Earlier sugunendra Tirtha swami of Sode math was upset and claimed to be forced to respond to not being invited to participate in paryaya festivities.
Row over omission of Sugunendra Tirtha Swami of Puttige math in the invitation for Paryaya Durbar of Vishwavavallabha Tirtha Swami of sode math took another turn on Monday( 16-1-2012) with Visvesha Tirtha math also declaring to go on fast. His decision comes as a response to fast by Sugunendra Tirtha which will
