Volume 16 Issue 1 » 111 Porsche VIP Opening Event Porsche Now Richmond » Following the groundbreaking of the future home of Porsche Centre Richmond in the Richmond Auto Mall, VIP guests were hosted at Porsche Now Richmond to celebrate the official launch of the new pop-up store. The first of its kind globally, Porsche Now Richmond introduces the Porsche Now pop-up design concept on the ground floor of Aberdeen Square. The all-new, all-electric Porsche Taycan Turbo S was the star of the show as it was introduced to the crowd, while Chef Makoto Ono crafted and executed a special menu for the event as he spent the evening away from his restaurant, Mak N Ming in Kitsilano. Although on first look the model name is somewhat of an anachronism, the Taycan Turbo S adheres to Porsche’s model designation conventions and represents the top model in the Taycan range. Rated at 750 horsepower, the Turbo S will become the most powerful production Porsche ever when deliveries begin in early 2020. It will launch from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. Porsche Now Richmond boasts several features unique among Porsche retail locations. These include an infinity mirror-room at its entrance, a beautiful mural designed by local artist Carson Ting, and a scaled-down 911 model designed to work with Porsche’s new augmented reality mobile application. Notably, Porsche Now Richmond is the only location in Canada where you’ll find a Porsche Design lifestyle accessories boutique alongside the latest machines that Porsche has to offer.
