Since I’m in the business of fashion,
what role does fashion play in your
career and everyday life?
My lifestyle revolves around work and
my family. For going full-speed at work
and being very hands-on at home, I need
clothing that offers proficient functionality.
Whether it be behind-the-scenes comfort,
understated luxury, or unconventional chic,
I enjoy simplicity and character in my
clothing. I wear a lot of black-on-black.
Fit, style, and the cohesiveness of an outfit
are very important to me. I learned how to
tie a proper tie from my Dad before I even
learned to tie a bow!
What does style mean to you?
What is your go-to outfit?
I believe that style, grace and beauty
should be incorporated into every aspect
of your life, including your work, no matter
what you do for a living. When it comes
to styling, it is pretty universal, be it my
personal style or the events and editorials
we produce. Make bold statements and
graceful movements.
Obakki is my favourite local designer,
so I love throwing on her modern but
comfortable pieces. I love how everything
produced by Obakki has a twist of
feminine strength.
How would you describe your
personal style?
Definitely New York chic, black-on-black!
I am a minimalist at heart. I actually prefer
to buy one exquisite designer piece per
season over having my closet cluttered with
too many things.
We heard that you have a personal
connection with Land Rover and
Jaguar vehicles. Tell us the story.
One of my first memories with my Dad
is travelling in our family Range Rover. It
was burnt orange with cream interiors. My
Dad was surveying some new land for a
new development project and it was a field
of sunflowers. That picturesque scene of
the beautiful burnt orange Range Rover set
against the sunflowers has always stayed in
my head. I love being outside, so a vehicle
that handles the rugged outdoors is very
appealing.
