ou may recall that at last year’s
conference I was involved in a session
discussing the UK Power Market and
Electricity Market Reforms. This
was timely as National Grid had issued a
Notice of Insufficient Margin for the previous
day’s evening peak and had to activate
emergency measures to ensure our lights
stayed on. This included generators being
paid up to £2,500 per MWh as compared to
the average day ahead price of around £40.
