Stefaan started his career with R & D work on hydrogen combustion engines. At Tractebel Engineering( ENGIE), he worked for 3 years on the development and construction of onshore wind projects and for 4 years on the development and construction of offshore wind projects of which he worked 2 years on the construction of the 325 MW C-Power offshore wind project. After that, Stefaan worked for 3 years at ENGIE Electrabel as the wind turbine package manager on the development of offshore wind projects and as technical advisor for the French offshore wind projects. Since 1st of January’ 16, Stefaan supports the worldwide and the regional ENGIE BU’ s in developing geothermal, wind and marine energy projects.

Jaap Vrolijk

Jaap is the GBU risk manager for OG & C, supporting the Petrochemical, LNG, Offshore, Tank, Pipeline and Onshore business lines, located in Houston, TX. Prior to this assignment he performed a similar role in the Power GBU in Frederick, MD. He is responsible for reviewing risks associated with prospective and ongoing projects and for placing insurance programs in support of GBU work. He has had the opportunity to work closely with such diverse projects as Ivanpah, the Panda combined cycle projects and most recently on the Cheniere LNG projects in the gulf coast. Jaap has worked with Bechtel for 7 years. Previous to joining Bechtel, Jaap was a senior manager in Zurich Insurance company’ s construction business unit. He also worked with AIG in a variety of technical underwriting roles. Jaap has undergraduate and graduate engineering degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Xi Yao

Xi joined ENGIE in 2011 and worked as a Financial Advisor to support the development of power generation and infrastructure projects for 3 years. From 2013 – 2015, she worked as the Strategy Manager for Global LNG Business. Since January 2016, Xi has worked as the Strategy Manager focusing on strategy, competitiveness, and market development for Centralized Generation projects in ENGIE’ s regional business units around the world.

Steve Willis

Head of Property Loss Control, ENGIE

Steve is head of Property Loss Control, responsible for global loss prevention across the ENGIE fleet. He has extensive experience in global utility insurance risk management, including the management of large claims, and has worked for various utilities, including CEGB and its successor National Power, as well as Innogy, Thames Water and International Power. Steve is a fellow institute of Risk Management.
