Answer: Liam Shaughnessy Kids Say the Darnedest Things ONS Parents, What Did Your Kids Think About Take Your Kid to Work Day? The sons and daughters who participated in this year’s Take Your Kids to Work Day had a lot to say about office life. Here’s what some ONS staff overhead from our pint-sized visitors throughout the day. Sometimes actions speak louder than words, according to Sara Stuever, who heard one boy tell another that delivering mail was boring—as he literally leapt from delivery to delivery. Carol Demarco was reminded that sometimes the simple pleasures are best when she heard a kid exclaim, “Wow! They have vending machines!” While all the kids were well behaved, some had a secret desire to show their dark side, as Kristin Walsh witnessed. “The first boy said (real quiet), ‘I dare you to go push that Bad to the Bone button, again.’” She said his littler counterpart got super excited before sneaking over and hitting the button on Kathi Kandracs’ desk and running away in a fit of laughter. “Too cute!” “We had fun with Darcy’s son, Evan Beckett, and Stacey’s son, Blake Hanisak, delivering business cards,” said Judy Holmes. “Blake was out ahead of Evan, who had the cart, and Evan was yelling, ‘Dude, dude, I need more gum. Dude, I think we’re lost. Dude, you have to write your name on the board every time you pass it!’” That’s a whole lot of dudes—and probably a whole lot of gum. Mark Vrabel said that although he heard the word “bored” bantered around from several kids, all seemed to be having a good time. Plus, sometimes being bored is better than being in school. Thanks to all the staff who welcome the little ones to this year’s event.
