Featured Story First-Time Staff at ONS Booth Shares Her “Insider View” By Micayla Felicion, Membership and Component Relations Energetic is the first word that comes to mind when I think about Congress. Because this was my first time working the ONS booth, I was a little unsure about what to expect. When the learning hall opened on Thursday morning, the attendees were quick to enter the hall and check out all of the exhibitors. A lot of the booths had unique activities and giveaways, which drew large crowds. At the ONS booth, there were two caricature artists. Initially some of the attendees seemed a little apprehensive to get a caricature done, but after a few brave attendees started lining up, we had steady lines for both artists each day that the learning hall was open. Different topics were presented in chats at the ONS booth each day, and many were so popular that they were standing room only. The presentations brought a lot of traffic to the booth, which allowed staff to connect with some of the attendees. The attendees were full of excitement, creating a lot of energy throughout the learning hall. By the time Saturday afternoon arrived, many of the attendees were rushing to the ONS booth to get their ticket entered for the last two raffle baskets. Others were taking the opportunity to delve into some of the activities at other booths, including Lilly Oncology on Canvas. They had two easels with large canvases. The participant was given a color and would be told what section of the canvas to paint. One of the paintings from Congress is being donated to ONS to display at the office. Staff at Congress were invited to participate in painting that canvas as well. Overall, it was a wonderful first experience in the ONS booth. It was nice to get to meet so many members in person and to see all of the hard work come together for another successful Congress.
