Club:  Kingborough  Lions  United  Football  Club   Coach:  Stephen  Pitchford   Home  ground:  Lightwood  Park   Captain:  Nick  Cuthbertson   2013   Club   Highlight:   Relatively  quite  season  on  the  park,  silverware  was  collected  by   the  Womens  Team  in  the  pre-‐season  Summer  Cup  and  the  Under  14  Girls  won  the   Knockout  Cup.   What  are  your  thoughts  on  your  first  three  fixtures?   All  fixtures  in  2014  will  be  difficult  encounters  as  all  clubs  are  striving  to  improve  on   2013,   and   meeting   the   Summer   Cup   winners   in   the   first   round   will   be   a   good   test   of   our   preparations.   We   are   confident   of   taking   the   game   to   all   Victory   league   opponents  and  so  will  be  aiming  for  9  points  from  the  first  three  rounds.   What  are  your  hopes  for  the  season  ahead?     Our  goal  this  year  is  to  progress  the  playing  style  towards  a  possession-‐based  game,   aiming  for  a  top  four  finish.   Biggest   rival?   Given   Glenorchy   Knights   have   two   ex   KLUFC   coaches   amongst   their   senior  coaching  staff  and  three  players  who  played  for  the  Club  in  2013,  it  is  fair  to   say   there   will   be   a   “little   rivalry”   when   we   meet   as   they   are   sure   to   want   to   perform   well  against  their  “former”  team  mates.   Who  are  your  key  signings?     Seung  Yong  JIN,  Jae  Young  CHOI,  Jack  TURNER,  Adam  HEDGE  and  Francis  KENYI   Any   major   losses   from   last   year?  Marcello   Marchioli,   David   Cooper   (semi   retirement),  Cormac  Collins  (attending  World  Cup),  Michael  Palmer  (attending  World   Cup)  and  Damien  Pearce  (attending  World  Cup).   Who  are  the  young  players  to  watch  from  your  club?  Lewis  Verdouw,  Angus  Souter,   Fionn  Collins,  Dean  Watkins  and  Jae  Choi  are  all  eligible  to  play  under  20’s  but  will  be   expected  to  be  strong  contenders  for  starting  roles  within  the  Victory  League  team.   Unique  club  information:  The  Kingborough  Lions  Football  Club  is  based  in  the   Kingborough  Municipality  south  of  Hobart,  Tasmania  and  is  the  only  National   Premier  League  (NPL)  club  in  the  region.    Players  wishing  to  play  at  the  highest  level   in  Tasmania  can  do  this  at  KLUFC  in  the  State-‐wide  Victory  League  competition  or   Southern  Women's  Premier  League.    Pathways  are  provided  for  talented  (and  social)   Junior  and  Youth  players. One  of  the  few  clubs  that  have  for  many  years  catered  for  players  from  the  Junior   age  groups  (Under  6  to  Under  12)  through  to  the  more  social  players.
