Message from Ron Salski , Executive Director
As we prepare for the upcoming winter and spring seasons , Mundelein Park & Recreation District continues demonstrating why parks and recreation is essential for individuals and families . We are excited to share the Community-Wide Survey results on our website . An important takeaway is the “ value ” of our park and recreation district to the community . Additionally , there is more information to guide our board and staff ’ s future discussions on improvements , programs and services . Please go to mundeleinparks . org for details . While assessing the results , we will be interviewing Comprehensive Master Plan Consultants so the district can synthesize all our planning efforts into one document . This summary will outline a path and prioritize direction for the next five years . It is important to “ keep advancing ,” and your input and strategy will help guide the agency .
It is important to stay healthy and active during the colder months . Our Health and Fitness Center is a safe and warm environment to work out as the weather turns . Our many options can keep you from getting bored with your workouts . Your membership includes full access to the fitness floor , indoor track , indoor pool , gymnasium , as well as a wide variety of group exercise classes . Welcome the Winter Solstice with a special virtual evening yoga event on December 19 ( see page 49 ).
Wondering what is new this season ? For kids , we are offering ice skating and hockey classes ( see page 33 ). For adults , we have a new softball tournament in April ( see page 51 ). We also offer special events for festive family fun ( see pages 10 – 13 ).

Special thanks to SRACLC who held an Oktoberfest Meat Raffle Fundraiser at Hitz Pizza on October 16 . Some of the proceeds from the raffle will go toward installing new fitness trail equipment at Hanrahan Park .
