One USQ Connectivity & Experience Projects - Activity Report June 2016 | Seite 3

Strategic Learning and Teaching Technology Investments – The First Year The USQ Council has provided additional investment over 5 years to accelerate improvements underpinning technology enabled learning and teaching. The ultimate investment aim is enhanced teaching and social presence at USQ. In line with this, first year activity focussed on actioning things we already knew - from operational data, client feedback, and the directions set by past projects such as U@USQ; things which would positively impact the teaching and learning experience at USQ, and provide the underpinnings for further improvement. Scott Sorley Executive Director, ICT Services With first phase implementations complete, subsequent phases will focus on exploring opportunities and requirements for supporting and sustaining improved teaching and learning experience longer-term. This will include identification of opportunities for improved personalisation of experience and interaction with our key teaching and learning systems. Attention to institutional (systems) and individual (fluency) capacity gaps to be filled to support this is in scope. End user consultation, data and information to help inform, refine and confirm the second stage directions outlined below will continue to be crucial. Foundational analytics and information asset identification commenced during 2015 will provide a baseline. Broad engagement with USQ staff and students will help tease out the key institutional user experience questions of value relevant to each stream of investment activity. This will also help recognise and align investment and business as usual efforts as possible. 1
