“The PFA is pleased to support One-Two Magazine to promote and support grassroots football. If football is to remain as the most popular spectator and participant sport in the world it is important that England, with its history in the game and its high economy status, does all it can to make sure that the base of the football pyramid is alive and well with good pitches, good changing facilities and above all good football coaches.”

TALKING TACTICS
Hello and welcome to the September issue and our landmark tenth publication. I hope you are enjoying the summer and you enjoyed the World Cup.
As the new football season kicks off i have spoken to a few grassroots referees who are still waiting for their quota of magic foam cans. Maybe if the FA are reading this they could look into where the cans have got to.
On a serious note, up and down the country there are thousands if not millions of players, coaches, referees and volunteers gearing up for a new grassroots season. Summer is nearly over, the new school term is underway and volunteers up and down the country are trying to get pitches and facilities ready.
For a lot of people, the work that goes on over the summer behind the scenes goes un-noticed. Whether it's a lick of paint in the changing rooms or frantically searching for a new sponsor, The people that make it possible for your son/daughter to play each week, from chairmen to coaches need to be thanked. It's their passion and commitment to our grassroots game that makes it possible. So to all of you who work tirelessly for our children and for no monetry gain, thank you.
And so on to this issue which we hope you enjoy. It's full of the usual team profiles, honorable mentions and some fantastic artilces written by some talented contributors. We also are lucky yet again to be able to offer some great prizes in our competitions.
We hope the magazine appeals to all age groups incolved in the junior game across the UK but please don't hesitate to contact us if you have anything you would like to see in future issues.
So enjoy the magazine and don't forget to visit us at our website where we have loads of info, news, articles and a general plethora of stuff from the junior game.
Enjoy
Dave Cook
