"Hi and I hope you are enjoying your football journey. As a coach who worked my way up from grassroots football I feel it is important you are informed about the change in football academies in regard to the Elite Player Performance Plan.(EPPP). Even though it is causing a stir in the football world I am a firm believer in the structure of the EPPP and measured performance in football at all departments at every level in Academies. I believe that once clubs have fully evolved into this programme we will see the technical development of players in this country vastly improve.

The standard of coaching and quality of coaching i believe will hugely improve and overtime we will reap the fruit of this overhaul of Academies in this country.

I have just come back from St Georges Park doing my A-Licence and I can bear testimony of the future of the game being in fantastic hands as this course was unbelievable as was the complex. In Geoff Pike and Dan Ashworth we have at the FA in my opinion the foundation of a great nation that will bring forward a football player of a higher calibre but we just have to be patient and nurture the seeds. If you cannot afford a coaching course I highly recommend this book to help you change the way you think and improve you as a coach. I promise that you will never ever coach the same way.

Yes, like most new programmes it has its flaws and is not 100% workable but the foundation of it principles and procedures are what the game needed in my humble opinion this is coming more and more into football with sports science and football analysis which can only benefit our young players. There are more Coaching Apps(Ipad)and websites available to grassroots coaches which gives them more knowledge which can only be good for the game and coaches personal development. '

Every player, every coach and every department in every academy has individual feedback and goals that are set for their personal development and this can only be good for everyone involved. We are now fully evolving into the "digital" age and this is coming more and more into football with sports science and football analysis which can only benefit our young players. There are more Coaching Apps(Ipad)and websites available to grassroots coaches which gives them more knowledge which can only be good for the game and coaches personal development.
