“The PFA is pleased to support One-Two Magazine to promote and support grassroots football. If football is to remain as the most popular spectator and participant sport in the world it is important that England, with its history in the game and its high economy status, does all it can to make sure that the base of the football pyramid is alive and well with good pitches, good changing facilities and above all good football coaches.”

TALKING TACTICS

Hello and welcome to the May Issue of the One-Two Magazine. As most of our leagues wind down for the summer there is the inevitable back log of fixtures from the winter. Strangely though despite having a relatively mild winter a huge amount of games were called off. This was not due to the normal snow or heavy frost but the other scurge of outdoor sports - rain, and lots of it. Hopefully now most of the pitches up and down the country that were hit with the heavy rain are now back to being playable.

So on to this issue and we made an extra effort to include more articles and features on the girls game. We can only really publish what you the readers send us so this is a shout for more of you involved in the girls game to get in touch and let us know about all the hard work you do. Send us stories of your triumphs, let us know if you think someone at your club deserves a special mention or just tell us all about your team. I say this every issue but the magazine depends upon your input. We will always put your content in to the mag no matter how small.

We have had a lot of cool prizes in the last few issues and this is thanks to the companies and individuials who have donated them. A massive thanks goes out to them and everyone else who is supporting us in what we are trying to do.

As is always the case, a massive thanks to you, our readers, who's number is growing each issue. You are now tens of thousands strong. The grassroots football community in this country is amazing so we say to everyone involved, keep up the fantastic work!

I hope you enjoy the magazine.
