Future Game Finals
In 2013 the club was chosen as one of the first clubs to take part in the joint FAI and McDonald’s future football national initiative for children in age groups U8 – U10. The club was subsequently chosen as a host venue for the Fun Day associated with this program which was a huge success attended by children from a host of football clubs taking part in this initiative. Part of this initiative also included a number of our coaches attending FAI Coach Education courses covering small sided games in the 4v4 and 7v7 format which were hugely beneficial to our coaches.
One of our teams also took place in the finals attached to this initiative which took place in the pitches attached to the Aviva Stadium, home of the Republic of Ireland national team.
Moving forward into 2014 will see the opening of our new clubhouse in Marian Park,
Drogheda which will now have a standalone floodlit playing pitch; all weather floodlit training pitch and a state of the art clubhouse. 2014 will also see the opening of two new schoolchildren pitches in a new permanent home for the junior section of the club.
