Cross Country
The weather for this year’s Run was nearly perfect for a late Fall cross country race, and the net result was a bunch of pretty impressive performances – and lots of enthusiasm – on the part of the 534 finishers. The Run was staged by the Greater Long Island Running Club in cooperation with the Town of Oyster Bay .
Thanks go to New York Blood Services for their sponsorship of the Run once again. Thanks also go to the Center for Developmental Disabilities and the Center’s wonderful Executive Director Nick Boba and Director of Development Debbie Patey for lending the use of the facilities at the Center for race headquarters, to leading Syosset realtor Kathy Pisani, who serves on the CDD Board of Directors, and S&S Automotive Center of Syosset, the supporting sponsors of this year’s Run in support of The Center. Race organizers also thanked Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto and the staff of the Town’s Department of Parks and Recreation for their support, and for all the enthusiastic volunteers from the Greater Long Island Running Club for ensuring the success of the event.
