One Southern Indiana has built its Advocacy Agenda to ensure our current business environment is robust and the foundation for sustainable economic growth. Through advocacy, we promote positive change to achieve economic and business vitality for the region. Additionally, we strive to provide members with access to policymakers at all levels of government through forums, roundtables, and one-on-one meetings.
One Southern Indiana’ s 2026 Call to Action for the Indiana General Assembly continues to focus on concerns relating to Talent Attraction and Retention:
- Train students to properly align with employer needs and retain students as employed workers within the local economy.
- Develop new and enhanced tools to build and maintain infrastructure in support of diversified economic development and affordable housing.
- Increase the availability and affordability of childcare and eldercare so that workers have peace of mind that loved ones are cared for while they engage in the workforce.
