In 2023 alone , 1si announced 14 projects that represent over $ 1 billion of capital investment throughout Clark , Floyd , and Scott County . As these projects are completed , the region will benefit from 2,505 new jobs , the vast majority paying well above their county average wages , for a total estimated added payroll of $ 134,047,222 million annually .
Those projects represent expansions and attraction of companies in industries from clean energy production , research and development , automotive , food & beverage , pharmaceutical , defense , logistics , advanced manufacturing , and much more . That speaks volumes about Southern Indiana ’ s mix of logistic ease , infrastructure , talent , business environment — and our strategic economic development efforts .
