Advocacy
One Southern Indiana has built its Advocacy agenda to ensure our current business environment is strong , the foundation for sustainable economic growth . Through advocacy , we promote positive change to achieve economic and business vitality for the region . Additionally , we strive to provide members with access to policy makers at all levels of government through forums , roundtables and one-on-one meetings .
One Southern Indiana ’ s 2023 Call to Action for the Indiana General Assembly is focused on four main concerns relating to Talent Attraction and Retention :
- Replenish regional Quality of Place funding through READI .
- Develop new and enhanced tools to build and maintain infrastructure in support of housing growth .
- Authorize and fund incentives to increase the availability of childcare so that parents can join the workforce .
- Increase funding to build capacity in nursing schools and allied health to eliminate the shortage of these essential workers and enhance healthy lifestyles for Hoosiers .
