Samsung Now Recalls Top-Load Washing Machines Samsung is once again finds itself in fix, this time with the latest washing machines. The company is providing refunds, replacements and repairs for about 2.8 million top-load washers as the company has received thousands of complains about the machine vibrating unduly. There have been cases of excessive vibrations leading to the detaching of machines lids. This year is just not for the electronic giant company, the company is still in the process of recalling and production halting of Galaxy Note 7 and yet it is recalling at least 34 top-load washing machines. These machines are dated to be produced far back as March 2011. It should be noted that the front-load washers are not at all affected by this recall. According to the consumer product safety commission, the washing machine starts vibrating quite vehemently which can result in unexpected detachment of the lid from the washing machine. This can even pose a risk on injury to the consumer. The agency has stated that consumer electronic company has received about 733 reports of vehement vibration or the top detachment from washing machine chassis. In addition, there are nine more reported of people suffering energy from falling or being hit by the lid. On the same issue, the company said that the detachment issue is generally caused when the washing machine is dumped with heavy loads as bulky items, bedding, etc. on high speed cycle. While the consumers wait on getting cash disbursements, fixes and repairs, the company advises them to put on lower speed cycles while washing heavy bulk clothes. While the company has been receiving same-natured complains since September, Samsung advised the consumers to use the machines with lower speed spin for bulky clothes. In addition, the cases were said to be rare by the company. The consumers with the complain of top-load washing machines are put into three categories; free repairs with extended warranties, refund for any new washing machine inclusive of free installation and a full rebate for the machine, provided the machine was bought in the last 30 days. Following the major fiasco - Note 7, with exploding batteries, this is second recall this year by Samsung. The company is reclaiming about 2 million phones in U.S only. The CPSC and Samsung have been studying the causes that went wrong with Note 7 smart phones causing batteries to explode.
