Icebergs

Bondi Beach, NSW Australia

I would like to be the person that experiences a sunrise every morning. I am not. As beautiful and breathtaking as sunrises can be, I never seem to rouse myself from the comfort of a deep slumber to behold them. Typically, I only manage to see a sunrise when I sit the 0300 to 0600 watch on sailing passage. But when Rob Weir, an amazing photographer I’d met through blogging, invited me to capture the sunrise at Bondi Beach with him, I couldn’t pass the opportunity up. Unfortunately, the day we chose turned out to be overcast and rainy, but the accompanying big seas provided a visual treat at sunrise as waves crashed to fill the nearby Iceberg’s salt water pool while devoted swimmers looked onward. Mother nature never disappoints.
