National des Invalides , in which many events
unfolded and now most of the artillery collections
are located . Being the heir of the Museum of
Artillery ( whose collections were collected during
the revolution and opened in the House of Invalides
in 1871 ), the Army Museum has one of the most
impressive collections of artillery pieces .
The main courtyard of Hôtel des Invalides is an
exclusive battery of 60 French classic bronze
cannons , which are the treasures of the artillery
collections of the Army Museum and a dozen
howitzers and mortars .
The richness of its ancient collections makes the
Army Museum one of the three largest weapon
museums in the world .

outstanding figures , such as Napoleon Bonaparte
and his marshals . They are also illustrated by a
remarkable collection of paintings made during the
events .
