The Geneva Ethnographic Museum was
founded in 1901 , and today it houses one of
the largest ethnographic collections in
Switzerland . Two years ago , part of the
museum funds moved to a new original
building designed by Zurich architects Marco
Graber and Thomas Pulver , so that in addition
to 80 , 000 items and 300 , 000 exposition
documents , the building in which they are
located is no less interesting for visitors .
Two years ago , the Ethnographic Museum
( MEG ) literally cracked at the seams . In 2014 ,
more than 80 , 000 exhibits of the museum
were finally able to comfortably fit in a new
building designed by the Zurich architectural
bureau Marco Graber and Thomas Pulwer . An
interesting building with a sloping facade ,
resembling an Asian pagoda , stands out
against the backdrop of classical architecture
of Karl Vogt Boulevard .
Inside - the real outer space with unique
light - filled rooms , which effectively exhibited
the treasures of the museum . The permanent
exhibition entitled “ Archives of Human
Differences ” vividly illustrates the stages of
the origin and development of a number of
cultures .
