Interestingly America , although secular in the constitution , it however identifies as a Christian country and the ‘ In God We Trust ’ watchword in their dealings actually means a Christian God with a protestant , blond and blue-eyed savior .
This however contrasts severely with the type of person they are willing to support just to win . A foul mouthed non-Christian decadent liar who has shown no charity to his neighbor and actually threatens massive deportations on being elected .
The Make America Great Again is just a euphemism for Make America White Again which ironically it never was since it is after all an immigrant nation . It is a diabolic scheme to eradicate what they consider undesirable minorities .
It is disgraceful that in a country of over three hundred million people the contest for such an important office was reduced to a matchup between two doddering octogenarians whose mental acuity is in glaring question .
There has to be a serious flaw in a system that allows such a situation to even arise . The campaign was reduced into name calling and insult trading on which candidate is more infirm and deranged as their infamous debate proved .
Their campaign machinery and the allpervasive polls which seem to dominate the electioneering process were unwilling to accept what was plainly evident to any casual observer and it needed the debate to tilt the balance .
Now that sense has prevailed and incumbent president has dropped out of the November race one would think Americans would evaluate the whole mad process and start to put their country first rather than the party .
Ochieng wonders what is it that the world finds so appealing about the Americans if they can ’ t even make their own system work to their advantage . In the final analysis the elected president will be a president for all America not for his sponsoring party .

America is grappling with a looming debt crisis and the pretender to the throne , China is slowly but surely undermining its supremacy and with new geopolitical realignments taking shape America should be worried .
Yet rather than addressing itself to the real threats to its supremacy , Americans are rallying behind a man that is feeding their nostalgia of a gung-ho America that was once the policeman of the world .
With their government system and economic might in tatters the American are getting behind a man that is isolating America and still lives in the mirage of an almighty America and who has even the impudence to threaten traditional allies .
Now that a non-white American woman is in the pole position of a democratic nomination it remains to be seen how the American populace will deal with their innate hypocrisy about the land of the brave and free .
Ochieng finds it very interesting to realize that Americans are in reality between the proverbial rock and a hard place . No election in recent times would have as much at stake if the Democrats do actually endorse the current frontrunner .
It would be the acid test of choosing an
articulate woman who , if elected would break the glass ceiling in a male dominated society . Is America ready for a woman president and would she be consistent with the macho America image .
America has had a president of color before but are they ready for another so soon especially if that person is a woman . Will Trump try to run her out of town with a ‘ Ditch the Immigrant ’ chant like he harassed Hillary Clinton with ‘ Lock Her Up ’ chants .
On the other hand , America is being asked to choose a president of questionable physical and mental health even before we consider his moral standing . Even having experienced the type of devastation he is capable of unleashing ; he is still on the ballot .
What type of collective stupidity makes it even possible to allow a criminal to vie for office and somehow , if elected , it will give him the right to lecture the world and especially the African countries on the merits of democracy and the will of the people .
It is ironic that for a person that has spoken and demonstrated his inclination towards dictatorial power which is the very antithesis of democratic rule should be allowed to venture anywhere near power since he will abuse it .
For Ochieng the last word is that as the Americans go to the polls this year , democracy will also be on trial as a system of government . It has failed in many countries and if it helps a person unfit to hold public office get through - woe to all democracies in the world .
America would by their choice unleash anarchy in the rest of the world and if America is the holy grail of democracy , then they would have demonstrated that not only is the system flawed but that it is actually dangerous and inherently oppressive .
