lap I pushed hard to get first for the day , and I was making up time , but I got hung up really bad on three hill climbs that basically ended any chance at a win .”
“ I had a great weekend at Battle of the Goats ,” said Hart . “ Rain made the track a bit slippery on Sunday , but after I got the holeshot , I just put my head down and focused on cleaning the hill climbs , which helped me maintain my lead . I ’ m happy to come out on top and win the championship !”
LeBlond would cross the finish line only 11 seconds behind Webb to take third place ; Riordan would take fourth , and FactoryONE Sherco ’ s Keith Curtis would round out the top five . Curtis battled with Ashburn all race long . The two would go back and forth until the end of the first lap , when Curtis had to make a stop in the pits with cramping . This would allow for Ashburn to put a solid 20-minute lead over Curtis as he recuperated . Curtis would catch a second wind and not only catch Ashburn but pass him with only a few miles to go . He would cross the finish line only 22 seconds ahead of the Husqvarna racer .
