Through some intense battles , Bolt came away with the win , with GasGas Factory Racing ’ s Taddy Blazusiak coming in second place , despite dealing with an injured shoulder from the previous HEWC event at the Red Bull Romaniacs . Vision Track Beta ’ s Jonny Walker would finish in third .
For those familiar with Tennessee in the summer , Round 5 of the HEWC series opened up to what would be a very hot and humid day in The Volunteer State . Although the total race time for Sunday only summed to three hours , the environmental conditions paired with the incredibly tough rocky terrain and steep technical climbs that TTC is known for made sure that competitors would use every ounce of mental and physical strength they had if they wanted to complete the course .
The format of Sunday ’ s racing was a knockout style , just as the name implies . The top 60 riders lined up for a quick hot lap to determine the starting line-up of the first of two qualifier races . Manuel Lettenbichler would take the win , posting a time of 6:06 , only two seconds ahead of Billy Bolt . Bolt then proceeded to take wins in both knockout races , with Lettenbichler going 2-6 , safely qualifying for the main event while conserving as much energy as possible . Despite
