‘ 3 ’ line riders rode 3 loops and got to ride each section twice on the first circuit due to a number of the riders relying on batteries , so they still got 4 attempts at each section despite only riding 3 loops . Other classes all rode 4 loops with the exception of the 14- 15 year old ‘ 0 ’ line riders who rode 3 loops then took a break before riding 4 shootout sections to serve as their final loop . Once all other classes finished competing , there was a short break in the action before everyone gathered back up for the ’ Shootout ’. The zero line riders all get to ride each of 4 specially constructed sections twice while everyone else gets to enjoy the show and cheer the riders on . These sections are designed to really push the competitors ’ abilities and are the most difficult of the weekend . Having a gallery of spectators and being the center of attention helps riders to step up to the challenge and many attacked larger and more intimidating obstacles than they ever had before . The sections were made more difficult with the addition of some afternoon rain that made the rocks much slicker but every rider made excellent attempts at every section .
