DO maintain a consistent diet in the 72 hours leading up to an event , and DON ’ T try to load up on water or salt or food or make drastic changes to which foods you ’ re eating or how much you ’ re eating .
Most of us will be travelling in the days leading up to the event , which means that we won ’ t be spending as much time on the bike or in the gym as we normally would , so the amount of calories that we ’ re burning is significantly reduced . Maintaining a steady intake of food , fluids , and electrolytes during this time allows our bodies to store as
