success and growth of the series and its three-race format is proven in the tremendous number of riders on the starting line and the increasing number of fast riders that are dicing for the overall and class wins on a regular basis .
Coyote Run marked the return of legacy fast-guy , Brian Grove . After sitting out the start of the season recovering from an off-season foot injury , Brian proved he can still hang as he placed himself in second overall during Sunday ’ s Post Vintage race right between the juggernauts of Logan Holley ( 1st ) and John Ashcraft ( 3rd ). Kyle Warner continues to blow minds with his vintage class speed on a bantamweight 100cc Yamaha with a top-ten overall and class win consecutive days . And it is always great to hang out with basketball legend Rik Smits , who laid down plenty of fast laps and strong finishes throughout the weekend .
Add another fantastic weekend to the legacy of Coyote Run with great people , weather , traction , courses , food , and racing … already looking forward to next August ! Returning to the lead-in to this narrative , I sure hope that Dave and Darlene foresaw what this event would evolve into today , because they deserve a lot of credit for tackling the challenge and fostering the growth and camaraderie that make the event a treat to attend .
