Riders staged themselves for Saturdays ’ round six prepared to tackle the “ tight / hard ” loop . Almost immediately following the green flag , the waves of vintage bikes funneled into the woods headed for the great flow of the trail that served as a prelude to the fan-favorite sink hole just off the dirt road , the namesake of the event . Here , a crowd formed to spectate and cheer the loudest for those that leap the highest exiting the steep ascent . A rough patch followed by some of the worst , but thankfully only , rocks on the course . Riders emerged into a brief foray of bright light as the path made its way through a short section of grass track before getting into the tight stuff . The track reentered the woods and descended toward a creek bed and crossing . Running parallel to the creek for a spell , the route was
