minutes on day two . Team Chile saw mechanical failures causing a would-be eight minute special test to take 40 minutes , with a 17 minute penalty - moving them from fourth place overall to 13th .
The USA ' s Womens team continued to extend their lead to more than seven minutes over Great Britain as Brandy Richards continued to dominate the tests .
" The weather held out for us [ today ]," said Rachel Gutish . " It rained a bit as we were finishing , and they ' re calling for more tonight . Brandy once again dominated the day , winning every test in typical Brandy fashion . Our rookie , Korie Steede , had a solid day , though she ' s still adjusting to the event . She took fourth and is aiming to get back up to her second place day one finish ."
" So far , I ' ve been having a fun week ," said Steede . " I ' ve already learned a lot - this place and this event is no joke ! For the rest of the week , I ' m just aiming to leave each day behind me whether it ' s good or bad , and focus on what ' s ahead ."
