The 2021 SEER Saddleback Xtreme utilized new property that had its full share of extreme terrain at the Saddleback East Club in Bedford , KY . To give all riders a good time , the more experienced gold and silver class riders were directed through splits that put them through the hardest terrain while bronze class riders were given a pass . The format was simple , 3 hours to go through as many checkpoints as possible .

felt like miles of creek beds . It was when these creek bed sections turned uphill that the going got especially tough . The occasional ledges and rock walls encountered on these steep rock beds required everyone ounce of concentration and traction to launch up . If not in a creek bed , the course had sidehills , log crossings and hill climbs that challenged your ability to carry any bit of momentum over the hard pack clay that didn ’ t seem to offer much grip . The 2021 Saddleback Xtreme lived up to its name – extreme !
