Six PM marks the official Happy Hour & Potluck involving hi-camping cuisine such as a BBQ tri-tip steak or seared ahi sliders , followed by a camp-fire gathering under clearly visible Milky Way . Night festivities are known to continue until wee hours .
Sunday morning brings yet another local specialty ; a mildly technical single track ride to a jet crash site .
On December 7 , 1967 , a Republic F-105D USAF crashed in the mountains due to malfunction . The pilot , Major Delaney was able to eject safely , landing 1.2 miles from the crash site . The jet is still there , although in thousand pieces .
This historic excursion typically concludes the very memorable weekend . But for those who just can ’ t stay off their bikes , all sections remain open during Sunday for further practice .
2021 marked 7th Annual Piute Palace Fun Trial . A recordnumber 35 riders participated in the event along with a number of other guests who come simply to enjoy the locale .
