In the Trial2 class , the weekend would be a constant battle between Sherco ’ s Jack Peace and TRRS ’ Toby Martyn . On Day 1 , it all came down to the final two sections when both riders were tied on 18 total points . Peace dropped two points to Martyn ’ s three in section 11 . Both riders were able to clean section 12 , seeing Peace take his first-ever win in the Trial2 class . Beta ’ s Lorenzo Gandola posted the best ride of the day on his second loop , dropping only 4 points , but ultimately had to settle for third place with a total of 25 points on the day .
Yet again , Day 2 saw a changeup of the leaderboard . A single point dropped in the last section of the day meant that Martyn and Peace were tied on 20 points . Because of the new regulations for managing tie breakers , Martyn was awarded the win for completing approximately nine minutes faster than Peace . Beta ’ s Aniol Gelabert made an outstanding rebound from his ninth-place finish on Day 1 to finish in third with 32 points . Beta ’ s Sondre Haga and Montesa ’ s Pablo Suarez Jambrina tied for fourth place with 36 points . Haga was able to win the tie after finishing approximately six minutes faster .
