ROUND 1 – TOLMEZZO , ITALY – JUNE 11-13
The season opener was held in Tolmezzo at the foothills of the Strabut Mountain in north-eastern Italy . This was the first time the venue played host to the TrialGP World Championship , and athletes could not have been treated to better conditions .

GasGas ’ s Jorge Casales had a poor start to his second season as World # 4 when he received positive COVID-19 PCR test results and had to immediately withdraw from competition .
The fight for top step on Day 1 came down to Bou and his long-time rival TRRS ’ s Adam Raga . Despite a slight misstep in the third section of the day costing him a precious 5 points , Bou was able to stay consistent and match his 12 points for the second loop . Raga made a valiant effort for the lead , but ultimately lost the top step in the final section of the day by posting a 2-point score for an overall 25 points on the day to Bou ’ s 24 . Beta ’ s Matteo Grattarola and Vertigo ’ s Jaime Busto had a battle of their own for third place . Following Bou ’ s lead , Grattarola posted consistent 20-point
