with Berta Abellan , Sandra Gomez , and Alba Villegas winning a tiebreak against Great Britain ’ s Emma Bristow , Alicia Robinson , and Kaytlyn Adshead for the top spot . Team Italy ( Andrea Sofia Rabino , Martina Gallieni , and Sara Trentini ) would finish in third place with 24 points .
Team USA placed seventh out of 11 teams , finishing with 76 points on the day .
“ The first section was relatively easy ; all three of us cleaned it ,” explained Courtney . “ From there , I had a couple strings of fives , for either no-stops , or knocking a marker , but then I got to other sections where I was able to make it up two or three of the obstacles in the section . I felt good about that . The first loop was rough trying to figure everything out . By my second loop , I started piecing together some great rides and actually had two of my scores count towards the total team score . It was cool being able to contribute to the team because I knew I was helping them – I wasn ’ t just there to learn .
“ One of the sections had a five-foot concrete straight vertical up off a weird embankment / hill . At that point in the section , I was riding great ; I think I was on a 2 because I had one little mishap in one uphill , off-camber corner . As I was going up the obstacle , I hesitated for a second , and when I went to go , I almost got to the top ; my foot made
