There is no passing in the “ V ”, but there is an off-camber side line over a rock ledge . This side line blew out badly with the dry soil pushing away leaving roots and little traction to make a clean attempt .
HOW ABOUT YOUR COMPETITORS ? WHO WAS CHASING YOU , WHOM WERE YOU CHASING ?
Just as soon as I could grab the lead shortly off the start , I made a wrong turn atop a short steep climb . 6 or so riders passed me immediately . I was forced to take some pretty aggressive lines to catch back up to the front . I traded the lead a few times with Logan while Quinn and I also battled over 2nd spot . Smoke valley cost me the lead once I believe , and sent me to 3rd place . I know throughout most of the race I had the fastest split times when I wasn ’ t hung in the valley ! Ultimately Logan snuck away while I climbed out of Smoke Valley and I couldn ' t make up all that time .
HOW DID YOUR BIKE HOLD UP ? WHAT TIRES DID YOU USE , AND DID THEY HANDLE THE COURSE WELL ?
I have a nice points lead going into the final race , so I don ’ t need to win the Cliffhanger to secure my second SEER Championship , but I would like to win another round this season . It really comes down to how I am feeling and who shows up !
