Team France ’ s Vintage Trophy team was able to extend their lead over Team Germany on Day 2 . Unfortunately , four Vintage Trophy riders were unable to complete the day and had to retire , adding a max time of two hours to their respective team ; this caused an upset in the results , moving Team Austria from their podium position to sixth position , ahead of Team Italy ( losing Giorgio Grasso ) and Team Finland ( losing both Jukka Tapani Puolivali and Veli-Matti Makinen , with only Harri Leppalaakso to continue ).
The Vintage Silver Vase Club teams saw Italy dominating the leaderboard . Team Moto Club Pantera A duplicated their previous day ’ s win , extending the lead to 2:36 and 3:29 minutes over fellow countryman Teams Sorci Verdi A and Gilera Arcore F .
The final day of competition saw a single cross test . Competitors had to navigate four loops of a course less than a mile in length . Once again at the top of the leaderboard were Matteo Rubin and Stephane Peterhansel . Separated by less than 2 seconds , Peterhansel was unable to overtake Rubin before the finish . Unfortunately for Rubin , Peterhansel ’ s win on Day 2 was enough to secure him the overall win for the event with a lead of 33.59 seconds .
In the end , it was Team France who took the top of the Vintage Trophy
