ROUND 2 RACE REPORT

Tying their record entries again for a second time this season , 185 riders from more than 20 different states lined up for the Bootlegger Extreme , round two of the South East Extreme Riders ( SEER ) series , presented by Pandora ’ s European Motorsports . This round showcased a new venue to the series : Sequatchie Cove Farm , located about a mile away from the infamous Trials Training Center ( TTC ) in Sequatchie , TN , which is known for its fantastic trials terrain and plays host to the annual Tennessee Knock-Out extreme enduro .

Unlike TTC , which has years of riders developing and clearing out trails and sections to ride , Cove Farms consisted of mostly virgin terrain . The SEER staff made sure the track was clearly marked , but as there weren ’ t any obvious trail lines to follow , this added another challenge to the first rider out .
As spring sets in for the new year , the weather likes to play games with race promoters . Severe weather and rain in the weeks ( and days ) leading up to the original race date caused the event to be postponed seven days to Easter weekend . To put the situation in a bit of perspective , the day the race was supposed to take place saw the creek just off the starting line filled with approximately six feet of water . The pit area held on to some of the water and caused a 45-minute start delay while the staff made sure everyone was able to park safely and register for the event .
