turned to a downpour . Most of the front runners had pitted for a new set of goggles , then-current leader Strang choosing tear-offs and Baylor choosing roll-offs .
Coming into the final lap , Strang held the lead with Baylor mere seconds behind . Making a final charge with only four miles between them and the checkered flag , Strang had a bit of bad luck when a lap rider moved in his path . Baylor was able to capitalize on this and finished 43 seconds ahead to take his second win of the season .
“ We came up behind a lapper , and then he just peeled off in front of Josh , and it cleared up the good line for me , and I was able to make the pass ,” said Steward . “ It was definitely threading the needle . It was wheel to wheel . The rest of the way , I could feel him all over me . It was clean and honest racing .”
“ He passed me and then it was on from there ,” Strang said . “ He was going flat out . I was just going flat out trying to force him into a mistake or something . Frustrating to get second , but at the same time , I felt like I rode a good race .”
Halfway through lap four , Babbitts Online Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green ’ s Lyndon Snodgrass was able to sneak by Girroir to battle for the podium , but a few small mistakes cost him precious time and allowed the # 969 to take the lead
