Since May is the month to celebrate Mother ’ s Day , we wanted to take a moment and turn our attention to some of the women behind the scenes . Being a mother is a difficult job , especially in today ’ s challenging times , but to be a mother of a professional athlete takes something extra . To see your son or daughter put themselves in a position that has an increased potential for reward , but also injury , takes nerves of steel .

We met up with three moms of athletes in different motorcycle disciplines to try and get a better understanding of how they ’ ve developed these “ nerves of steel ” and how they ’ ve gotten comfortable with their children , all of whom starting riding competitively around the ages of four or five , developing in sports that some would call dangerous . But make no mistake about it , these moms aren ’ t content with just watching from the sidelines ; all three women have become highly involved in their respective sports and are helping to continue building and supporting a foundation for future generations of riders .
