SCTA splits the clubman class into two divisions : A and B . The A riders are veterans who have , for the most part , moved down from the Advanced class , while B is for riders who have moved up from Intermediate class . In the B class , Russ Victor riding Beta had a healthy lead coming into round nine and his win only extended that lead . Second place went to Rick Spruell which was his best finish of the season . Third place went to Remus Haupt who finished only one point behind Rick and one point ahead of fourth place Murphy Aaron .
Last season ’ s Clubman A champ Bill Merritt riding a Vertigo wrapped up his second championship in a row with a strong second place at round nine . First place at the event went to Rick Jenkins with third going to 1993 El Trial de España champion , Tom Hamann .
Next class up is the Advanced class . Chris Cullins on a Beta finished with a second place at the trials and that was enough to win the championship over the winner of the Spring Trial David Pyle . Third place of the day went to MotoVentures own Andre LaPlante .
Normally Expert is SCTA ’ s top class . Cole Cullins riding Beta came into round nine with a 15-point lead
