ANOTHER SEASON IN THE BOOKS ...

After eight rounds of competition , the Southern California Trials Association Championship 20 / 21 series came to a close with round nine , “ The Spring Trial ” at MotoVentures training facility in Anza , CA . With the four clubs under the SCTA umbrella organizing two events together during the season , the final round was a collaboration between all the clubs which includes Plonkers , SDTR , SSMC and VOTE . Each club built sections , worked on the loop and performed checker duties .

With each club putting their best twist on the sections and with the extremely loose and sandy conditions , the sections where challenging for most classes which is a good way to end the championship season . I ’ d like to say that there where tight and exciting battles for the SCTA championships , but for the most part they were pretty much wrapped up with the points leaders only needing to start the event to clinch .
In Novice , young Ty Brueske riding his Sherco 125 already had the championship clinched and he ended the season with a strong second place at round nine . First place went to Josh Saddlemire & third to Luke Bashford .
With the Sportsman Championship already wrapped up , Adam Evans riding a GasGas moved up to Intermediate and placed a strong fifth his first time out . Without Adam in the class first-place Sportsman went to Jim Botticelli , second to Jason Bermudez and third to Jon Durigon .
Intermediate is the class that had the tightest battle with Von Smith on a Beta coming in with only a fourpoint lead over Frank Vasicek on a Vertigo . With the points difference between first and second being five points , either rider could bring home the championship with a win . After 30 challenging sections Von got the win and coveted Intermediate championship over Frank by beating
