In a bizarre turn of events during the second lap , Nick Fahringer attempted to adjust his suspension with a screwdriver while battling with Jordan Ashburn . With arm pump setting in , he slipped going through a turn and punctured the gas tank low on the tank , causing a steady stream of gas to pour out as he made a beeline for the pits . Luckily , he had a spare tank in reserve , and after some quick mechanic work , swapped tanks and was back on course , making a strong push for an impressive fourth-place finish just behind Ashburn .
